Learning Gateways

This department provides you with educational supplements to enhance instruction in designated curricular areas. Lessons, student handouts, and print and online resources are featured with the goal of helping you use this edition's feature articles and other departments to build your students' critical concepts and skills.

The instructional materials are designed to support National Standards in a variety of areas. National Standards Supported by This Edition may include social studies instruction, civics, government, history, geography, and economics. The standards have been developed by the National Council for the Social Studies, the Center for Civic Education, the National Center for History in the Schools, the National Council for Geographic Education, and the National Council on Economic Education.
